First Ad Introduces Herron as Tennessee Conservative

“Truck-driving, shotgun-shooting, Bible-reading, crime-fighting, family-loving country boy”

the truck ad DRESDEN, Tenn. — Congressional candidate Roy Herron reflects his Tennessee values in his first television commercial, “Truck Man,” that began airing in the 8th District on Thursday and is available on www.royherron.com.

The script of the 30-second ad follows:

Before Stephen Fincher starts another negative campaign, I want to tell you who I am.

I’m Roy Herron. I’ve put 400,000 miles on this old truck. I’m a truck-driving, shotgun-shooting, Bible-reading, crime-fighting, family-loving country boy.

And if you let me, I’ll be your waste-cutting, job-creating Congressman. I’ll oppose bailouts and bad trade deals like NAFTA.

I’m Roy Herron, and I approve this message, because when it comes to cutting spending and creating jobs, I’ll be as reliable as my old truck.

Herron was elected his party’s nominee Thursday and on Monday will launch a 19-county “Cuttin’ Waste and Creatin’ Jobs” tour across West and Middle Tennessee.

Small-town attorney and gospel preacher Roy Herron is running for Congress to bring jobs to Tennessee and restore fiscal responsibility to Washington. As a citizen legislator, Herron has fought predatory lenders and passed laws that are tough on criminals while protecting victims. Herron has written three books, including Tennessee Political Humor and God and Politics: How Can a Christian Be in Politics? He lives in Dresden with his wife of 23 years, Nancy, and their three sons.
